my view on this continuing meat scandal..... 

To me, eating horse-meat is just the same as eating beef or pork. While in UK and Ireland, horse is not part of the food chain and is not socially acceptable, in many countries it is and we have no right to criticize what people in other counties find acceptable to eat. My problem is when a product like horse-meat is illegally substituted for another product, deliberately mislabeled and fraudulently sold. There a very strict veterinary procedures for animals intended as a food source, the drugs used to treat them must be fully documented and animals which have been treated with certain drugs are not allowed to enter the food chain. With horse-meat being illegally substituted on such a widespread scale, most certainly with a criminal intention, the strict veterinary procedures are not correctly followed. THAT is my issue with this current meat scandal. If you want to eat horse-meat  then I don't have a problem, as long as that meat product is correctly labeled and the correct veterinary and processing procedures have been followed.

A Song That Reminds You Of Some Event

In 1992 /1993 I was part of the school drama show. The show was put together for a National Schools Talent competition and we were in the musical drama section. The show was loosely based on the Gone With The Wind story, about a girl whose relationship breaks down and who goes back to her home and along the way has adventures. The show was multilingual, Irish, English, French, German and Spanish. We had some amazing talent, not just the acting from the main characters, but a band who played all the music and dancers who were in proper dance schools. I was one of the solo dancers, as at the time I did competitive Irish dancing, (think Michael Flatley Lord Of The Dance).  We preformed the show at end of term assemblies and at parents night , and through out the year took part in the different rounds of the National talent show. We won the Dublin  round (county level) we won the Leinster round ( regional level) and came second in the National  Grand Final. This song  Chuck Berry - Johnny B Good  always reminds me of that time, as it was one of the songs in the show

I couldn't find a video from Munich Hard Rock but this is a good example. In 2002 /2003 I worked as a chef / supervisor at Munich Hard Rock Cafe. Every night when the restaurant was full, the managers would put on this song. All the staff, everyone from the dishwashers & us chefs right up to the managers would stop whatever we were doing and dance the YMCA. The bar staff danced on the bar, the waiting staff danced on the stage, the mangers and us kitchen staff dancing on chairs. It was sooo much fun, and everyone in town talked about the crazy staff at the Hard Rock who danced the YMCA.

A song from way back in my childhood, which always will remind me of my dad. My dad loved the spaghetti western / cowboy and Indian genre of the 50's and 60's. He read the books, listened to the music and spent hours & hours watching the films. This is one of the more child friendly spaghetti westerns that my dad would watch over and over. Whenever I hear this song, it reminds me of my dad and even now I still know all the words and can sing along.

A Song That Makes You Sad

Celine Dion  Oh Holy Night

This song makes me sad as it reminds me of my childhood Christmas times. Every year when I was a child at Christmas Midnight Mass, this song was sung by a male choir member, who was not the best singer. Every year, my dad would cringe as the opening music notes were played, as we knew who was getting ready for his big solo number. It was our little family joke, that when Mr W started singing, it was officially the start of Christmas, Santa was on his way & our world was safe & happy & innocent. Now when I hear it, its a reminder of all that I have lost, of how my world has changed from innocent happy children to grown up responsibilities & sadness
